Valhalla Helicopter’s Aerial Thermal Imaging Services provides an essential firefighting tool, including tactical information to help fire personnel do their job effectively, efficiently and safely.
Aerial Thermal ImagingValhalla Helicopters is pleased to provide Aerial Thermography & Mapping Services for the purpose of supplying up-to-date, accurate information to fire crews and managers which are essential firefighting tools to provide cost effective fire management. This current and accurate information will provide fire personnel with the tactical information essential to complete their tasks in an efficient and timely fashion, as well as provide geographical information which can be applied to fire safety plans to help ensure a safe working environment.
Valhalla Helicopters utilizes its high resolution, infrared, thermal imaging camera to provide fire perimeter, hotspot, air attack and media information, as well as fire spotting, lightening strike management, fire mapping and general incident intelligence with an extremely fast response time to ground crews. Thermal intensity can also be resolved to classify and map the hottest sections of a forest fire.
Our Bell 206B helicopters are outfitted with a state of the art onboard computer, GPS, ArcGIS software and printer. Real-time mapping is conducted while the thermal scanning is in progress. With these tools, the information gathered is recorded and archived. A weather resistant map is then produced and provided on site to ground crews. We are also capable of uploading current data to field GPS units within a few minutes of landing. Digital maps and properly attributed shape files will be provided on a memory stick and emailed to Fire Managers when requested.
Our thermal imaging camera is capable of detecting minute temperature variations which allows Valhalla Helicopters to complete a variety of inspections from the air.
