maintenance

Valhalla Helicopters holds Transport Canada certification as an Approved Maintenance Organization. Under our own AMO, Valhalla Helicopters is certified to complete works on the Bell 206 series, Bell 205 series and Bell 212 series of helicopters.

As Director of Maintenance, Chad Wasylenko maintains primary responsibility for the coordination of daily maintenance requirements, as well as overhaul projects; with major structural, engine and component overhauls contracted to suitably qualified third party facilities. Valhalla employs a staff of experienced, licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) to support the fleet, with knowledge of Bell medium aircraft being a priority when selecting AME crews. Our AMEs have completed courses on all aircraft types operated by Valhalla and participate in regular and recurrent training programs, including but not limited to various Bell Helicopter symposiums, internal and intercompany procedures, inspection schedules and Human Factors in Maintenance.

Valhalla Helicopters has initiated and completed full overhauls on all of our Bell medium aircraft involving a complete strip of both interior and exterior paint, structural inspection/repair, rewire, new hydraulic and fuel lines, as well as new radios and avionics. For the Bell 212, both engines have been upgraded to PT6-3B engines and 90 degree and 42 degree gearboxes and airframe have been upgraded to meet HP model standards. With the addition of the Bell 206 to our AMO, Valhalla Helicopters now offers limited third party maintenance support.

At Valhalla Helicopters, we conduct our own maintenance at our main hanger facility at the Shell Aerocentre at the Kelowna International Airport, as well as at our satellite bases located at Nelson in British Columbia, Grand Prairie and Springbank/Calgary in Alberta. When operating in remote locations, Valhalla Helicopters' medium-lift helicopters and crew are supported by fully equipped service trailers providing a rest area for crews and an appropriate inventory of operations gear, parts and tooling. These resources afford our engineers and staff an enhanced working environment to the regular industry standard, so that we are able to conduct our maintenance in favourable conditions even when our dynamic and specialized fleet is out in the field.
